The holiday season might still be weeks away, but stores are already starting to roll out their Christmas collections—and I couldn’t help but get a head start.
I stopped into HomeSense, Canadian Tire, Walmart, and Michaels to see what’s new this year and picked up a few beautiful pieces to start decorating.

homesense finds
I’ve been planning to set my dining room table for the season, so I grabbed a few items that’ll transition perfectly from fall into Christmas. At HomeSense, I found a textured white table runner ($29.99) that pops beautifully against my light wood table. I also got a set of pretty green napkins ($14.99) that’ll pair perfectly with the gold napkin rings I ordered from Wayfair. And a pair of deep burgandy red for the Christmas season! Also, only ($14.99).
I’m leaning into a rich burgundy color scheme this year to tie into my neutral decor I typically go with for the holidays. I picked up some velvet ribbon to make bows, along with gift tags and cards that’ll match my wrapping. I also found the sweetest velvet red tree at HomeSense for $14.99.
walmart christmas decor finds
At Walmart, I spotted lots of cozy kitchen finds, including red stove towels with bow details and the cutest holiday plates—some with gingerbread houses and others with tiny bows. I plan to set them out with my new napkins and gold accents for a layered, festive table.
At Walmart I also found this sweet wooden Christmas tree serving tray that I plan to style on my floating shelves for only ($9.99).

Canadian Tire continues to be one of my favorite stops for holiday decor. I grabbed some smaller cowbells to DIY with ribbon and mini wreaths that sold out fast last year (they’re back for $14.95!). I also found stunning faux greenery stems—full, realistic, and perfect for styling in a vase with a hint of red velvet ribbon. Also, only ($14.99) per stem!

And of course, I had to check out what’s trending in stores this year. The top themes?
- Bows everywhere — from ornaments to tree toppers.
- Nutcrackers in every size and color.
- Deep green, burgundy, and gold dominating color palettes.
- A vintage-inspired Ralph Lauren Christmas vibe, bringing back nostalgic, classic charm.
I plan to DIY some of my ornaments to get that perfect deep burgundy tone and will share more as my holiday setup comes together.
